About Our School

We are an independent, co-educational Pre and Primary school, situated in the beautiful Garden Route in Knysna, South Africa

We have offered quality education for more than 42 years. We are proudly South African and continue in our quest to provide quality, affordable independent education and to be the best Eco–school in the area.

Our School include a sport and extra mural programme and an active eco-club.

Our Eco Focus

We participate in the Eco schools project and our Eco Club is a popular extra mural activity

Making excellent use of Knysna’s environment, the estuary, forest, beach and wetlands to further the learner’s knowledge, not only in the fields of natural sciences, but utilising the outdoor classroom to integrate important skills, attitudes and values in a variety of subject areas such as Numeracy, Literacy and Life skills, to name a few. Our active Eco-club participates in gardening and birding activities, recycling and spreading eco-consciousness to children from other schools.

Social Responsibility

Community building developing respect and tolerance for diversity

We believe that self appreciation begins with the individual and should then expand to include family and friends and then the greater community before true humanitarian values can be fully incorporated into the well adjusted person.

At Stepping Stones we help to encourage self value, community value and world value.

We regularly get involved in projects which raise social awareness, collect clothes for the needy, toys for the orphanages, visual entertainment systems for the paediatric ward, sing for the elderly.

We also intend developing a programme to invite children from the informal settlement to share in developing a love and understanding for our eco-wetland.

We actively re-cycle and save water.

We believe in educating our children to develop a love and appreciation for their environment . We hope to engender the basic concepts of sustainability to ensure that our future leaders and citizens will take greater care of planet Earth.
